Functional Interaction: Project Managers / Project Art Lead / Artists

Responsible for creating outstanding environment assets and props for some of the best

known game titles.

Design, Model, UV Map and Texture environment assets and props for games that span

different genres and platforms.

Responsibilities:

· Study the asset specifications and client brief thoroughly before initiating estimation

or commencing work on assets. Understand the information provided and highlight

to the Lead any missing or contradictory information.

· Provide a list of queries to the Lead to seek clarification on the asset allocated.

Ensure that maximum clarity is achieved regarding the specifications, art direction

and approach for an asset before commencing work on it.

· Work closely with the Lead to arrive at appropriate effort estimates.

· Before commencing work on the asset, ensure that there is clear identification of the

approach to be taken to create the asset as well as daily work completion targets

and the same have been discussed with the Lead/sub-Lead before finalization.

· Collect adequate and appropriate references before commencing work.

· Model and texture assets efficiently, ensuring that the asset conforms to

specifications and directions received from the Client and the Lead.

· If required, carry out any post-production processes that may be required. This could

include activities such as making assets game-engine ready and check them in the

engine.

· Provide daily update of task status to Lead/sub-Lead.

· Proactively solve artistic and technical problems encountered while working on an

asset. Discuss such solutions with Lead/sub-Lead before implementing them. Red-

flag unsolved problems in a timely manner.

· Maintain and improve own productivity by completing work within the time allocated.

This includes art assets taken to completion or to a predetermined point where it is

to be handed over to a polishing artist.

· Adopt organization mandated Best Practices and Work Processes while working on an

asset.

· Deliver high quality work with zero QC errors and resulting in minimal iteration.

Diligently check asset against checklist to ensure that the asset complies with all

specifications.

Skills Required:

· A strong understanding of next-gen art production pipeline.

· Experienced with Maya, 3DS MAX, Zbrush and Photoshop.

· Knowledge of additional software – such as Substance Painter and Mudbox – as well

as knowledge of how to create assets for / export assets to game engines such as

Unreal Engine will be an added advantage.

· Have worked on organic and/or inorganic surfaces.

· Excellent skills in high and low poly modeling.

· Skilled at creating textures and materials.

· Good understanding of 3D art production pipeline, shaders, popular plugins and at

least one popular game engine.

· Detail oriented. Able to deliver error-free work.

· Able to manage time effectively to insure timely delivery of work.

· Team player.

· Good communication skills.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

· 2 or more years of experience of working as an Environment Artist.

· BFA / MFA would be added advantage.

· Work status

· Comments and explanations to be added to Feedback Tracker

c. Verbally communicate complex problems and issues, whether project or people

related, with ease and simplicity, keeping the recipient’s comprehension level

in mind.

d. Confidently and effectively communicate in English with non-Indian team

members.

e. Show clear ability and intent to understand and care about the concerns or

feelings of others, and to communicate such awareness emphatically to others

SUMMARY

Create animations as per client’s specifications and quality requirements within the

budgeted time and effort.

Job Role involves:

· Creating animations from scratch or cleanup and processing of high quality 3d

motion capture data.

· Efficiently plan work and ensure that all relevant information regarding the task is

collected and is readily available before commencing work.

· Create tasks with zero defects and in the most efficient manner, and as per plan.

· Diligently follow organizational best practices and mandated processes.

assets by juniors and taking them to completion / polishing them.

◦ Helping artists on their project to complete their work on time using the most

effective method, tools and processes

· Deliver high quality work which requires minimal iteration for finalization and has

zero QC errors.

· Help the Lead by guiding / supervising the work of artists. Does the first level review

of assets, if required.

Skills Required:

· A strong understanding of human and animal anatomy.

· Experienced with Maya, 3DS MAX, Zbrush and Photoshop.

· Knowledge of additional software – such as Substance Painter and Mudbox – as well

as knowledge of how to create assets for / export assets to game engines such as

· Good knowledge of 3D game asset creation process. Hands-on knowledge of how to

effectively model and texture 3D assets under production conditions (within

deadlines, conforming to client’s requirements etc.)
