Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing, adjusting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, overseeing their work and providing support as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support business initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with a minimum of [X years] of relevant experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff is a plus.
