JOB CAPTAIN JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB CAPTAIN is to assist the Director of Architecture in managing all aspects of the
construction documents assigned to the Job Captain. This includes a working collaboration with
the architect of record, foodservice and MEP engineering documents where applicable and
helping to manage and mentor CAD Technicians in their job. THE JOB CAPTAIN OWNS THE DRAWINGS!
FOR A PROJECT
* Must understand and coordinate the Architectural process with attention of the overall
Scope of Work, attention to detail and assisting in creating the Cartoon Set with the
Director of Architecture.
* Assist the Director of Architecture in scheduling and facilitating ALL project kick-off
meetings to determine overall project scope including time requirements, collaboration
needs, engineering, project budget, and deliverable schedule.
* When the Director of Architecture is out of the office, the Job Captain shall assist in
managing projects and report back to the Director of Architecture what transpired in his
or her absence.
* Prepare a complete set of construction documents which shall include:
Assist in preparing the Project Planning Cartoon Set of the Complete Set
of CD’s and/or Design Development Drawings
Identifying and understanding any published Design Guidelines for project
and any Third-Party Tenant Coordination requirements.
Identifying and understanding of ALL codes applicable to the project
Assist with Due Diligence for each project.
Prepare and be “keeper of the background drawings” in conjunction with
site survey for use by foodservice design, and engineers on project.
Coordination with Foodservice consultants and documents to be given to
Project MEP Engineers.
Coordination with I Director of Architecture to continue CD’s including
plans, RCP’s and ALL Elevations and specialty design details and
sections.
Confirm ALL requirements for submittal of final design development
drawings with the Director of Architecture
Use a drawing checklist as each sheet is created to ensure all sheets are
complete and coordinated.
Gather all final drawings and put into a 90% final set of CDs’ ready for
Director of Architecture QA check of documents.
Ensure project distribution lists are followed at each distribution.
Assist in submitting final 100% design development documents to
Architect of Record (AOR) client’s distribution, Landlord, Bidders, Building
Department, Health Department and any other party required to review
drawings for permitting and approval.
Revise Plans with all comments received to submit a FINAL Construction
Issue set to all involved in the project.
Assist Director of Architecture with Construction Administration items and
drawings as needed to respond to RFI’s and submittals.
Assist with Project Closeout by creating and distributing As-Built
documents for archive purposes.
Besides producing a complete set of accurate construction documents the following
responsibilities are also required by the JOB CAPTAIN.
* Take ownership of your work
* Should be able to handle multiple projects at any time.
* Mentor and train new and less experienced staff if required and approved by Director of
Architecture
* Always keep ALL deadlines in mind.
* Keep the Director of Architecture informed of any Risk Management issues.
* Assist in the postmortem of the project with project members to better the next one.
* Assist with project archiving at completion of projects.

Requirements:
8. Skills: Proficiency in social media platforms, content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
9. Knowledge: Strong understanding of social media algorithms, content marketing principles, and online community management.
Nice to Have:
1. Certifications: Social media certifications (e.g., Hootsuite, Facebook Blueprint) or digital marketing certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot).
2. Experience with Paid Social: Experience with paid social media advertising (e.g., Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads).
3. Video Creation Skills: Basic video creation skills using tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
