INTERACTING WITH CLIENTS
o Deal directly with customers, identify their needs, romance the merchandise and close sales
o Track your closing ratio and make sure that it is consistently good
o Take Orders for pieces that are either not in stock or not available in the right size
o Take-in Repairs by following all the steps carefully
o Follow up with clients on repairs, orders
o Meet every deadline and keep every promise you make to your client
HANDLING JEWELRY
o Displaying jewelry every morning in its designated spot and placing it back in the vault at end of day
o Cleaning the jewelry every time you remove jewelry from a case or are putting it back
o Use Gloves at all times when handling jewelry
o Polki Jewelry must be handled carefully. Please read its handling manual carefully
BILLING
o Ensure smooth and quick billing of the client’s purchase
VISUAL MERCHANDISING CLEANLINESS AND MAINTENANCE
o Keeping the counters well-organized with all the essentials in their designated space
o Displaying jewelry appropriately i.e. accounting for lighting, position, elevation etc.
o Keeping display material clean and dust-free
o Ensuring that the jewellery is displayed in the best manner possible in the case
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
o Participate actively in all learning initiatives by Sant Ram’s
o Improve your sales skills consistently to improve your closing ratios
o Improve your soft skills to better manage your relationships with clients
o Give feedback about the programs and if you have any of your own ideas, share
RULES AND PROCEDURES
o Follow the rules and procedures as laid out in the manual given to you
o Do not allow tardies to collect on your record; be known for your good behaviour
TIER 2 TASKS
ORDERS, FOLLOW-UP, REPAIRS AND AFTER-SALES SERVICE RECORD
o Keep a record of all follow-ups with clients and ensure that proper follow up procedure is followed
as stated in the manual
o Ensure that client repairs are executed punctually
o Ensure that all client orders are manufactured and ready at the stated time of delivery;
communicate with the in-store factory accounting for the same
o Track the implementation of the after-sales service program as stated in the manual and ensure that
it is done properly
VISUAL MERCHANDISING
o Check the entire display twice a day to make sure everything is on point
o Follow the schedule of VM changes as given by the Marketing Manager and coordinate with him/her
for the same
o Place orders for replenishing items required for VM
o Send references for modifications to be made for the upcoming VM changes to the Marketing Team
MERCHANDISING
o Monitor the current inventory levels to make Open to Buy lists that should be forwarded to Mumbai
o Adjust for orders in process (in gold) to show the real Open to Buy count
o Identify poorly performing categories and price-points and take the required steps to maximize
GMROI
DESIGN-FOR-YOU – Clients are shown designs for pieces that were not available at the time of their visit on
scheduled second-presentations
o Making sure that the Design Form is clearly filled with 2-3 reference images of what the client was
looking for
o Review the sale with the associate to make sure that the form is filled correctly
o Follow-up on the design-creation from Mumbai and make sure that they are delivered timely and as
promised
o Make a wow-presentation of the designs – it is easier to do that in person so try to invite the client
in for a second time to show your work
CERTIFICATION
o Solitaires must also either carry a studded jewellery certificate or a full diamond report
o Ensure that all diamond jewellery is certified and also comes with a certificate of Authenticity from
our end explaining the piece
o Conducting the labs promptly and getting the grades checked by Senior Management
o Having the shortest possible IGI Inventory Holding times by consistent communication with the lab
in-charges
