Designation  –  Sr. Technologist – Tomato Processing Profile.

Educational qualification Graduate/Post Graduate in Food engineering / Food Technology

Experience required Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience.

Experienced candidates are likely to be preferred.

Salary package CTC 6-12 LPA. Based on experience and skills, could be offered a differential package.

Job Location Shoghi, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

Placement process Telephonic interview, followed by Face-to-Face interview

WFO / WFH – Complete Work from office (Shoghi, Shimla)

Industry – Food processing- TOMATO processing is a must

Accommodation- Not provided, 1 time meal complementary (Lunch) 6 months’ probation period from the date of joining

Position Food Technologist
Job profile Manage the food safety program within the pilot plant including achieving compliance with any required external standards.
Generating new product ideas and recipes based mainly on Tomatoes, and stone fruits.
Develop product line based on boutique tomato purees, sauces etc.
Designing processes and machinery for the production of recipes on a large scale.

Liaising with marketing executive for marketing content.
Monitoring the use of additive

Testing and examining samples. Creating reports.

Tasks & responsibilities Use chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and other sciences to study the principles underlying the processing and deterioration of foods; analyze food content to determine levels of vitamins, fat,
sugar, and protein; discover new food sources; research ways to make processed foods safe, palatable, and healthful; and apply food science
knowledge to determine best ways to process, package, preserve, store, and distribute food.
Check raw ingredients for maturity or stability for processing, and finished  products for safety, quality and
nutritional value.
Develop food standards and production specifications, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications.
Develop new or improved ways of preserving, processing, packaging, storing, and delivering foods, using knowledge of chemistry,
microbiology, and other sciences.
Search for substitutes for harmful or undesirable additives, such as nitrites.
Study methods to improve aspects of  foods such as chemical composition, flavour, colour, texture, nutritional
value, and convenience.
Study the structure and composition of food, or the changes foods undergo in storage and processing.
Test new products for flavour, texture, colour, nutritional content, and adherence to government and industry standards.

Confer with process engineers, plant operators, flavour experts, and packaging and marketing specialists in order to resolve problems in product development.
Evaluate food processing and  storage operations, and assist in the development of quality assurance programs for such operations.
Inspect food processing areas in order to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards for sanitation, safety, quality, and waste management  standards.

Skills required • Good communication skills to be able to  share the purpose and vision behind the  project to other levels of management within  an organization.
• Ability to analyse information to formulate solutions.
• With a determined, pragmatic, straightforward, detail-oriented mind-set, you are also organized. You are responsive and autonomous, skills which will allow you to succeed in this position.
• You are resourceful and have excellent  interpersonal skills, in order to be able to work well with the local team to liaise successfully with suppliers.
