Roles and Responsibilities IT Administrator

1. Network Management:
 Set up, configure, and maintain network infrastructure,
including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access
points.
 Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity
issues.
 Implement and enforce network security measures, such as
firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

2. Server Management:
 Set up, configure, and maintain network infrastructure,
including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access
points.
 Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity
issues.
 Implement and enforce network security measures, such as
firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

3. User Support:
 Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware,
software, and network issues.
 Install and configure software applications on user devices.
 Assist with user account management, including access control
and password resets.
4. Security and Compliance

 Implement and manage security measures to protect IT
systems from cyber threats, viruses, and malware.
 Stay up-to-date with security best practices and implement
necessary updates and patches.
 Enforce IT security policies and ensure compliance with data
protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

5. Data Management:
 Manage data storage solutions, including file servers,
databases, and cloud storage.
 Monitor data integrity and implement backup and recovery
strategies.
 Handle data migration and archiving as needed.

6. Software and Hardware Management:
 Evaluate, procure, and manage software licenses and hardware
assets.
 Maintain an inventory of hardware and software resources.
 Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades or
replacements.
7. Monitoring and Reporting:
 Evaluate, procure, and manage software licenses and hardware

8. Documentation:

 Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations,

 Collaborate with other departments to align IT projects with
organizational goals.

10. Training:
 Conduct training sessions to educate employees on IT security
best practices and effective technology usage.

11. Vendor Management:
 Coordinate with technology vendors for procurement,
maintenance, and support.
12. Emergencies and Troubleshooting:
 Respond to and resolve critical IT issues promptly to minimize
downtime.
