Responsibilities:
who can draw up 2D and 3D models of furniture products using CAD software. Mainly designing or replicating sofas, dining chairs, dining tables, wardrobes, tables.
They must be able to research Western (UK, Europe, US) market trends, know production requirements and the appropriate resources to produce. Be able to work with the factory to produce prototypes therefore have a good understanding of the machines required to make the products such as CNC, bandsaw etc.

Design Development:
Conceptualize and develop innovative furniture designs based on client requirements, market trends, and design principles.
Create sketches, renderings, and 3D models of furniture designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software or traditional drafting techniques.
Consider factors such as aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and materials during the design process.
Material Selection:
Research and select appropriate materials, finishes, and hardware for furniture construction, taking into account factors such as durability, cost, and sustainability.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and components for prototype development and production.
Prototyping and Testing:
Develop prototypes and mock-ups of furniture designs for evaluation and testing purposes.
Conduct usability tests and ergonomic evaluations to assess the comfort, functionality, and performance of furniture prototypes.
Iterate and refine designs based on feedback from testing and evaluation processes.
Technical Drawings and Specifications:
Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM) for furniture designs, including dimensions, materials, and construction methods.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulations in the design and construction of furniture products.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure alignment on design objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Communicate design concepts, ideas, and requirements effectively through presentations, meetings, and design reviews.
Project Management:
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept development to final production, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to oversee the production and manufacturing of furniture designs.
Market Research and Trend Analysis:
Stay updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies in furniture design and interior design.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
