Responsibilities:
 Automate testing and building the in-house control plane software for optical
transport network devices using GitHub Actions and self-hosted runner.
o Automation includes unit testing, integration testing with other containers like
database, and E2E testing with network device simulators and real devices.
o It’s not confirmed, but we might need to use Jenkins.
o Frontend testing is not included.
 Designing a CI/CD pipeline that developers can use themselves.
 You will be responsible in both increasing development speed and productivity as
well as ensuring software quality in an agile development team.
 If possible, it is recommended to provide advice on software architecture and
development processes from a quality assurance perspective.
What you will NOT do:
 Performing build and testing or writing test reports upon developer’s request (often
manually)
Minimum Requirements:
 Ability to communicate technically in either English or Japanese.
 The ability to independently identify and address software development challenges
without requests from other developers or project managers.
 Proficient Linux Experience (equivalent to LPIC Level 2 or above)
 Proficient operations with docker container, especially knowledge about container
networking.
 Experience in constructing CI/CD pipeline with some tools like GitHub Actions,
CircleCI, AWS Codepipeline or Jenkins (GitHub Actions preferred).
 Experience in writing and automatically executing unit tests, integration tests, and
E2E tests in some programming language (Go preferred).
 Experience in agile development and extreme programming (XP), especially
designing and maintaining the developer tooling like linter, formatter or static
analyzer
 proficient git (CLI operation required) AND GitHub operations
 Proficient experience in issue tracker system management tools like Jira or GitHub
Project, especially automating the workflows in these systems
 Experience in documentation lifecycle management with git
o The ability to write technical documentation concisely and accurately.
o document knowledge about systems and pipelines and engage with the team to
enable developers to use the CI/CD pipeline on a self-service basis.

Preferred skills or experience:
 Bachelor degree in computer science or related fields
 Experience in server provisioning tools like Ansible, Chef or Terraform
 Experience in software development in Go
 Experience in Kubernetes infrastructure management (equivalent to CKA or CKAD)
 Experience in constructing CI/CD pipeline in on-prem environment

 Experience in automating CI/CD pipelines with hardware equipment like IoT or
network hardware
 Knowledge about optical transport networking.
