Job Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Purchase Officer will oversee the company’s purchasing activities and manage supplier relationships. The individual will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost-effective purchases, and maintaining an adequate inventory of materials. This role requires a strong background in procurement, supply chain management, and vendor relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PROCUREMENT STRATEGY:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with the company\u2019s goals and objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Ensure that procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with company policies and industry standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VENDOR MANAGEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and manage ongoing vendor relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PURCHASING & INVENTORY CONTROL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Oversee the purchase of all materials, goods, and services required by the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as necessary to maintain smooth operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Ensure the accuracy and completeness of purchase orders and invoices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUDGET & COST MANAGEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Develop and manage the procurement budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Analyze market trends and cost variations to identify opportunities for savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Ensure that all procurement activities are within the established budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

QUALITY CONTROL:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Ensure that all purchased goods meet quality standards and specifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Work closely with the quality control team to resolve any discrepancies in product quality or delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and environmental guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TEAM MANAGEMENT (IF APPLICABLE):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Manage and mentor a team of procurement officers or assistants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Coordinate training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REPORTING & ANALYSIS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and budget status for senior management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Analyze procurement data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and potential risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Work closely with departments such as finance, operations, and production to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Address any procurement-related issues that arise from other departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master\u2019s degree is a plus).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, and contract management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Knowledge of industry-specific products and materials (if relevant).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Certification in procurement (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Experience in managing a team and handling cross-functional projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Familiarity with international procurement processes (if applicable).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WORK ENVIRONMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Typically works in an office environment but may occasionally visit suppliers or production facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00d8 Full-time position, Monday to Friday, with possible overtime depending on project deadlines and procurement requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of supply chain management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with vendors and suppliers.
