Work type – Full timeAbout the Role:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of packaging for
electrical systems and electronics. As a Design Engineer you will follow the design of products
from inception throughout development phase and release production intent components for
manufacturing. You will be involved in prototype development and support required quoting
activities as it pertains to product development with customers as well as supply chain.
What You Will Do:
\u2022 Design and development of enclosure systems and other related mechanical designs
through analysis, design, and testing. (Sheet metal, casting, machined part, plastic part
etc)
\u2022 Provides technical leadership for design and manufacturing related matters.
\u2022 Has total ownership of the Mechanical design and associated program deliverables,
including cost.
\u2022 Reviews product validation and verification plans at all product levels and ensure
customers and internal requirements are met.
\u2022 Keeps program team members and management appraised of project progress and
roadblocks.
\u2022 Coordinate builds for Design Validation and customer requirements including ordering
components and inventory planning.
\u2022 Experience in Heat Sink Design, Fan Selection, Component and System level cooling.
\u2022 Experience with static and dynamic structural analysis, solder joint \/ lead fatigue
analysis, thermal analysis (passive and active cooling) and mechanical tolerance
analysis.
\u2022 Work in various technologies in product design, including but not limited to Machined
part design, sheet metal parts, Plastic injection molding, die casting, rapid prototyping
and material and finish selection.
\u2022 Complete product development lifecycle, capture requirements and provide technical
guidance and decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What You Will Need:
\u2022 Bachelor or Master\u2019s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and or equivalent.
\u2022 The position requires SolidWorks CAD understanding and experience.
\u2022 3 or more years of experience within the Engineering market preferred.
\u2022 Experience designing plastic or metal parts, understanding manufacturing techniques
for high and low volume projects, and experience selecting proper materials for the
application.
\u2022 Experience in fabricating prototypes and various fabrication methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and excel in a self-
directed work environment as well as within a cross functional team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
