Duties\/Responsibilities:
\u2022 Responsible for understanding operational requirements including hardware,
architecting, configuring, integrating, and maintaining mission-critical Production
PostgreSQL databases.
\u2022 Responsible for all PostgreSQL backup, recovery, PITR replication.
\u2022 Experience on community-supported tools like Pgbadger, PGadmin, Pgpool, Pgbouncer.
\u2022 Clusters and upgrading\/migrating various PostgreSQL\u00a0database\u00a0version on various
platform including Cloud and On-premises.
\u2022\u00a0Database\u00a0administration\u00a0and tuning of PostgreSQL databases on Open
source\/enterprise platform like EDB.
\u2022 Cluster and\u00a0database\u00a0automation using Ansible, terraform or equivalent tools.
\u2022 Provide technical guidance for planning, design, development, integration, and testing
of PostgreSQL production systems\/databases.
\u2022 Support several Open-Source technologies including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
\u2022 Install, configure, upgrade and patching for Postgres and other open-source databases.
\u2022 Contribute to improving and creating\u00a0DBA\u00a0policies, procedures, and standards.
\u2022 Experience with\u00a0Database\u00a0Migration tools like AWS SCT\/DMS or Ora2pg.
\u2022 Experience with\u00a0Database\u00a0Migration tools like GCP\/Azure DMS.
\u2022 Plan, develop and implement processes and procedures for\u00a0database\u00a0backup and
recovery.
\u2022 Analyze, document and present\u00a0database\u00a0hardware and technology requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Continually improve database administration standards, guidelines, and procedures.
\u2022 Review database development activities to assure conformance with design
specifications.
\u2022 Database monitoring and administration using shell\/python coding.
\u2022 The individual filling this position is expected to provide production support ownership,
tracking, and resolving database related tasks.
\u2022 Additionally, fulfilling requests, resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service-related
reports (e.g., database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis, to ensure
service-related issues are identified and resolved within established SLA.
\u2022 The position involves a mix of production support and project delivery activities.
\u2022 The individual will also be responsible for initiating and performing changes on
production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within
the established timeframes.
\u2022 Design and implement automation solutions for routine tasks, system reporting, alerts,
and notifications using custom scripts (Shell\/Python\/Ansible).
\u2022 Experience working on any Public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, OCI or GCP) is
preferred.
\u2022 Experience of Infrastructure as code tool like Terraform or equivalent is good to have.
\u2022 Knowledge of Linux\/storage\/network is good to have.
Necessary Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 15 plus years of core\u00a0DBA\u00a0experience.
\u2022 Experience with multiple relational databases including PostgreSQL.
\u2022 Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle Internals.
\u2022 Automation using Ansible or similar tool is preferred.
\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s in computer science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
\u2022 A deep understanding of data replication with experience in at least one replication
technology.
\u2022 Excellent problem-solving skills.
\u2022 Experience coding in shell and Python is must.
\u2022 Knowledge of DevOps CI\/CD tools like Jenkins, AWS Code deploy good to have.
\u2022 Knowledge of Postgres on EDB or AWS RDS\/Aurora or other cloud platform is preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
